New Publication! « Missing links in AI governance » by UNESCO and Mila Quebec
UNESCO recognizes the potential of AI to achieve sustainable development goals, but also acknowledges the challenges of governance and protection of human rights associated with its development. In 2021, the UNESCO adopted the Recommendation on the Ethics of AI, the first global normative tool in this field.
This collective publication developed in collaboration with Mila – Quebec , and edited by Benjamin Prud’homme, Catherine Régis and Golnoosh Farnadi contributes to discussions on governance challenges and capacity gaps for countries to ensure trustworthy and responsible use of AI. The publication covers topics such as AI in the judiciary, gender and AI, and the impact of AI on society. The UNESCO hopes this publication will strengthen the contribution of AI to inclusive and peaceful societies while promoting a human rights-based approach to AI development.
